What We Offer

Welcome to Tech Lectures                                         for the Pharmacy Technician

National Organizations to belong

National Consortium of Pharmacy Technicians (NCPT), is an organization formed November of 2012.  The organization claims a current membership base of almost 1200 Technicians.  The website is excellent in content and the organization does appear to be legitimate as far as volunteers, etc.   The President of this organization is Joe Medina, whom also is founder of Tech Lectures.  This organization is very much different in that it is about giving back to its membership base with its Membership Dollars Fund with over $7000 given to its members in need since its inception.  NCPT also offers 36 hours of FREE CE or if you want your 21 hours CE at once, a fee of only  25.00 as well as simply give-a-ways.   Two year membership dues are only $36.00   Something tells me this is the organization to belong.  Unfortunately, marketing will be difficult so to help them out, become a member and tell them Tech Lectures sent you!

The American Association of Pharmacy Technicians (AAPT), have been around for over 30 years (established: 1979), and follows necessary guidelines in being a non-profit organization with newly elected volunteers on a yearly basis.   Although not a strong national organization due to different variables such as lack of financial support, this is the organization I would recommend as far as being there for its membership base.  Simply said, this is a  great organization to belong.  Tell them Tech Lectures sent you

The National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA),

an offshoot of the million dollar business entity Asyntria, has been around since 1999 and touts itself as  the ONLY national organization for the Pharmacy Technician vocation.  Although NPTA claims/markets its non-profit status (it is not), the organization appears to be more about making money off of its 20 plus products they produce themselves with aggressive marketing and sale.   Two millionaire Pharmacists gave Mike Johnston the role of  Founder / CEO when he was their teenage Pharmacy Technician clerk.   NPTA was created with millions of dollars and now makes millions of dollars directly or indirectly off of the Pharmacy Technician vocation each year.

I am not one to say do not belong to this organization as they claim a membership base of tens of thousands, and promise you the world with your $69.00 yearly membership dues ... but realize everything they do for you most likely will have a price tag attached.

Do not limit yourself to just the three organizations above as there are many state Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician organizations with Pharmacy Technician members as well. Just be sure the one you choose is the one that will meet your individual needs.

Other organizations that seem to care about their Pharmacy Technician members:

The Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT)

    California Pharmacists Association (CPhA)

    Washington State Pharmacy Association (WSPA)
